Nytt Rom – Issue 102: The Keep What You Got Issue

NYTT ROM is a Norwegian magazine presenting Scandinavian design, architecture and living.

For this issue we have explored the art of saving vs. throwing away, and re-build vs. preserving. Anna and Sindre in Lindern Hageby scraped down old wallpaper and paint to discover their apartments original surfaces, and added terrazzo flooring and veneer walls. Karin and Sindre discovered beautiful dutch wall tiles when renovating their house previously inhabited by a bank manager, and made the vault in the basement into a pantry. The family at Frederiksberg bought a house from 1924 and decided to return the floor plan to the original architectural layout. Even though it meant letting go of the dream of an open kitchen layout.
