Manera Magazine – Number 17

MANERA is a Spanish quarterly magazine dedicated to interiors, design, architecture and art.

Published from Madrid, it approaches design not as a succession of trends, but as a way of understanding how people live through spaces, objects, materials and ideas.

Issue 17 marks MANERA’s fourth anniversary and is its largest issue so far, with 356 pages. The cover features the Milan home of Emiliano Salci, co-founder of Dimorestudio — an intimate interior shaped by memory, shadow, calm and time.

The issue travels widely through contemporary and historic homes: Martín Massé’s converted artist studio in Paris; a restored mid-century house by Smith & Williams in Los Angeles; Atelier Caracas’ first built house in Bogotá; architect Chet Callahan and Jacinto Hernández’s coastal California home with interiors by Oliver M. Furth; restored geodesic houses in Burgundy; a London home by Luis de Oliveira and Fátima de la Espada; Casa Pozzali on Lake Maggiore by Salvati and Tresoldi; and Antoni Bonet’s Casas Ribera in the Maresme.

Issue 17 also introduces MANERA Ediciones, the magazine’s new book imprint, beginning with an illustrated biography of Charlotte Perriand. As throughout the magazine, homes sit alongside profiles, design, art and writing — treating interiors as expressions of memory, culture and different ways of living.
