Cose Journal – Issue 03: Sink

Cose Journal is a new independent publication striving to spark reflection on everyday objects and their different uses through a variety of vehicles for creative expression.

COSE Journal III turns its gaze to the bathroom sink, reimagining it as a site of self-care, introspection, tranquillity and ritual. This issue explores how the objects inhabiting this intimate space intertwine with our daily gestures, quietly shaping our sense of self. At its heart is an attention to material presence and the tactile, multi-sensory experience of this domestic surface, where textures, sounds and sensations converge into a hypnotic choreography. The sink, conceived not merely as a surface but as a microcosm of our deepest, most unsettling fears and thoughts, becomes a stage on which the duality of life plays out in full force. Here, vanity, grime and secret oddities wash away with every stroke, only to merge and form something else down – or up – the plughole.
