Casa BRUTUS is a Japanese lifestyle and design magazine covering architecture, interiors, art, food, travel and contemporary culture.

Number 319, “The Best Museums 2026”, surveys the most important new and expanded museums around the world. At the centre is the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art in Los Angeles, designed by MAD Architects and built over roughly eight years as a major new home for narrative art.

The issue also looks at Peter Zumthor’s LACMA, Shohei Shigematsu and OMA’s New Museum, Jean Nouvel’s Fondation Cartier and SANAA’s Taichung Green Museumbrary, alongside a wider overview of how museum architecture is changing after the pandemic.

A major section presents 50 contemporary museum buildings around the world worth travelling for, while other stories examine visible museum storage, the evolution of museum architecture and a Japanese art hot list including the Maebashi International Art Festival and new work at SKAC in Tokyo.
