The latest issue of "Japan's Best Art Museums" is now on sale!

Naoshima has become world-famous as a mecca for architecture and art. Starting with the Benesse House Museum, which opened in 1992 in the early days of the island, Tadao Ando, who has been responsible for numerous architectural projects on the island, is set to open his 10th facility, the Naoshima New Art Museum, at the end of May 2025. This is the first museum to include "Naoshima" in its name and will exhibit works by world-renowned Asian artists such as Takashi Murakami, Cai Guo-Qiang, Seo Do-ho, and Chim↑Pom from Smappa! Group.

The Setouchi Triennale, held on the islands of the Seto Inland Sea, will also be held for the first time in three years.

The Tottori Prefectural Museum of Art, "almost the last" prefectural art museum designed by Fumihiko Maki, has opened, and Kenzo Tange's masterpiece, the Yokohama Museum of Art, has reopened after a long renovation period.
