Coffee Table Mags pick
For cycling readers — 160 pages of racing, bikepacking, design and human stories, from Miguel Indurain and Enric Mas to Norway, Flanders and Cervélo.
Alvento is an Italian cycling magazine covering racing, travel, bikepacking, design and cycling culture through long-form stories and photography.
Issue 47 asks a simple question: “Why do we stay together?” The answer unfolds across racing, travel and the unpredictable ways cycling changes plans. The issue opens with Afonso Eulálio before the Giro’s pink jersey changed how people saw him, and spends a day on the bike with five-time Tour de France winner Miguel Indurain.
Other stories include Enric Mas and the idea of romanticism in modern professional cycling, the unforgettable World Cup downhill race at Les Gets, and “Ultimate Flanders 525” — four days of bikepacking through Flanders beyond the famous cobbled climbs and racing mythology.
The issue also looks behind the engineering and design of Cervélo bicycles and travels through central Norway on a bikepacking journey where August means temperatures of just five degrees. Together, Issue 47 captures Alvento’s mix of elite racing, exploration, equipment and the more human reasons people continue to ride.
