Summer is here and I’m looking forward to taking a break with family and friends and recharging, because 2024 is set to be one of our biggest years for the Vogue Living team. We are selecting our highly anticipated VL50—a list of the very best creatives in the country—and for the first time, VL50 will be celebrated with an awards ceremony in February 2024. It’s a wonderful way to recognise the incredible talent in Australia. Stay tuned! This issue, we gravitate towards homes that are quietly confident, with lush gardens, fabulous pools and a sense of peace and calm.

On the cover is the Sydney home of Australian fashion photographer Georges Antoni and his family. It is beautifully simple in its design and materiality, and a nod to his Lebanese heritage. VL50 star Thomas Hamel invited us into the retreat he shares with partner George Massar on the NSW Coast, where we spent a morning walking through the magnificent landscape. The home is a reflection of their character; charming, unpretentious and exuding elegance. We pay tribute to the late interior designer Sarah Davison, who passed away a few months ago. I never had the privilege of meeting Sarah but worked with her sister Jillian, who shared Sarah’s final design with me and said: “I know Vogue Living was her favourite interiors publication and I think this project encapsulates the elegance and strong femininity which was always present in her work”. We are honoured to share that Bowral project, a collaboration with architect Luke Moloney. Sarah’s contribution to the design community will be missed.

Lastly, we are proud to partner with Silversea Cruises and delve into the world of luxury cruising. Contributing editor Freya Herring wrote the travel report: “The experiences on offer are about connecting guests with their locations in really exciting, discerning ways”.
