revue-issue-21
Revue – Issue 21

Revue is a biannual French culture and style magazine exploring contemporary art, design, fashion, and creative thought through a distinctly curated, Parisian lens.

Revue is a visually rich, French-language culture magazine that blends contemporary art, fashion, design, architecture, and photography into one thoughtful biannual publication. Each issue brings together leading and emerging creative voices, offering in-depth features, essays, interviews, and sharply curated visuals. With its large format, tactile paper and bold editorial direction, Revue stands as a collectible object for readers who appreciate European aesthetics and cultural storytelling.

Originating in a 1929 short story by Hungarian writer Frigyes Karinthy, the concept of "six degrees of separation" posits that any individual can be connected to any other through a chain of social relationships involving five intermediaries.

For this new issue of *Revue*, we decided to put this theory to the test through our table of contents, inviting each guest to choose the next. Thus, the Italian duo Formafantasma invited Polish photographer Joanna Piotrowska. She, in turn, passed the baton to Italian artist Diego Marcon, who selected Basma al-Sharif. The Palestinian artist and filmmaker nominated American artist Steffani Jemison. Finally, to complete the chain, Jemison chose Dominican choreographer Ligia Lewis. This sequence—weaving together diverse histories and artistic practices—reveals recurring themes such as the exploration of the past, the importance of collaboration, and the complexities of storytelling. Together, these conversations paint a unique yet cohesive portrait of the international contemporary creative landscape.

This editorial experiment is accompanied by a visual refresh: the twenty-first issue of *Revue* adopts a new look while remaining true to its mission of fostering a dialogue between different types of imagery. Across more than a hundred pages, the visions of Stefan Dotter, Alexandre Haefeli, Miranda Barnes, Kincso Bede, Charles Negre, Maxime Imbert, Pippa Garner, and Hördur Ingason intertwine. It is a reinvention of form paired with continuity of substance—and, as always, an enduring desire to broaden our perspective on the world.

NEW FORMAT / NEWSPAPER / 6 POSTERS
